Cumming, GA (May 5, 2025) – A serious head-on collision on Bethelview Road near Kelly Mill Road sent three people to the hospital Monday afternoon and led to a temporary road closure as authorities investigated the scene.
The accident occurred around 2:10 p.m. when a silver Hyundai Elantra traveling northbound crossed the center line and collided with a black Jeep SUV heading southbound. The force of the impact left both vehicles with extensive front-end damage, and airbags deployed in both cars.
Emergency responders from Forsyth County Fire Department quickly arrived and extricated one person from the Hyundai, who had become trapped. Three individuals, including both drivers and a passenger, were transported to Northside Hospital Forsyth with injuries ranging from broken bones to internal bruising. All were listed in stable condition as of Monday evening.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has opened an investigation into the cause of the crash. Preliminary findings suggest that the driver of the Hyundai may have been distracted or fatigued before drifting across the center line. Toxicology reports and further evaluations are pending.
Bethelview Road was closed in both directions for nearly two hours as crews cleared the debris and documented the crash. Traffic was detoured to Castleberry Road during the investigation.
